From the C2C community support group, C2C-TV was born - a local platform with a vision to empower children. Each week, the program feature discussions and interviews on topics related to violence, with a focus on encouraging different school children to share their experiences regarding issues such as corporal punishment, bullying, sexual harassment, intellectual punishment, emotional abuse, neglect, children's rights, and responsibilities. Through tech, we aimed to reach out to government officials, policymakers, parents, teachers, community leaders, the United Nations, and all those involved in children's rights, education, and well-being to gain insight into the challenges faced by children in unreached communities. The goal is to urge them to take immediate action on these issues in the unreached areas where the highest rates of all forms of violence occur, often due to abuse of power by authorities. Parents need to differentiate between punishment and Discipline and adopt positive ways of disciplining children because: Discipline is a long term process which aims to build children’s ability to make good judgments. It is focused on helping children to learn from their mistakes. Is a gradual and accumulative , it involves learning and changing overtime. Discipline does not create fear or shame.It builds confidence and skills . Recognises effort and good behaviour. Provides consistent rules. Is respectful of the child, not humiliating. Allows children to make choices about their behaviour. Involves listening to children Focuses on correcting the behaviour , not judging the child.

Research shows that about 75% of physical abuse starts as physical discipline that has gone to far. One in five parents resort to physical discipline, and that many more engage in yelling, shouting, or emotional abuse. There are years of data showing spanking is ineffective—and in fact, harmful to kids. But often the topic is avoided and ignored. Most people don't think they're going to cross that line from physical punishment to physical abuse until they do.

Ending violence against children requires everyone to change their feelings and thoughts from being a painful parent to a painless or polite parent. The rod is not an alternative to discipline but understating, listening and respecting your child is.

Violence against children impedes children's work and weakens their impact of development.

What parent are you? Are you an authoritarian, authoritative, permissive or uninvolved parent? In order to prohibit corporal punishment of children, parents, teachers and other child caregivers in all settings need to be educated to see themselves as a frame and not the picture.Children should been seen as the picture always and they should be put first in everything.
